Meet the GrYnch Team!
It was 9 years ago that I realized that there were too many children waking up on Christmas Day without any gifts or toys. We are a summer based seasonal community. Many of our families have employment opportunities for just 3/4 of the year. These families have hard decisions to make in the winter months. Rent, Heat & Food or Christmas Toys ... I think we all know what wins out under those circumstances.
In 2008, 4 days before Christmas I threw out an appeal for toys in hopes of helping 10 families ... needless to say though the generosity of our community we serviced 75 families. Toys that were delivered by a team of locals that included the Wildwoods Fire and Police Departments on Christmas Eve.
We have grown a bit ... Christmas is more like a job now. It takes over 250 volunteers to help Vicki and I collect, sort, wrap, bag and deliver over 20,000 toys for the Lynch who Stole Christmas project. In the past 9 years we have collected toys that have been distributed to over 5,800 kids helping over 3,700 local families in our communities.
And that is #ThePowerOfCommunity
Thank you as we cannot do this without you!
